Can anyone recommend a great place for dinner in Indy? Upscale, nice wine list, for a special dinner with my sister and mom.
Thanks to all for suggestions.

Tannya-IMHO, if your preference is for steak, then try Dunaways. If seafood, The Majestic. Either way, you shouldn't be disappointed.
We really enjoyed Rick's Cafe Boatyard at 4050 Dandy Trail--(I just looked up the address; my memory's not that good!) As the name says, it overlooks a dock full of sailboats, a very pretty setting. But the name is deceptive in that it has a much more extensive and upscale menu than a cafe. It's not too far off of 465 or 74 near a little airport. It's a nice area.

Downtown Indianapolis has really blossomed recently, and there are some great places down there, including Palomino's, a Euro Bistro near Circle Centre. They are really a nice upscale place, and I think they have a good wine list, but I'm not positive. They have a nice cocktail menu, I'm pretty sure. One of my favorite restaurants in the area is Bazbeaux, a gourmet pizza restaurant downtown on 334 Massachusetts Ave. I think they have a decent winelist, (we ordered a decent chianti from them a while back), and they are often times voted best pizza in Indy. Here's a link, although it talks about it being rather casual, but they are probably referring to the all-outdoor-seating one in Broadripple Village. http://indianapolis.citysearch.com/profile/3950335
Make sure you try their creamy basil house dressing with your salad, and also try the pesto topped garlic bread.
AND, if you are a steak fan, Indy's St. Elmo's is a hometown favorite (first steak house in Indy!). It's also downtown at 127 S. Illinois Street. Here is a link for it: http://indianapolis.citysearch.com/profile/11358206/
Last but not least: my very favorite restaurant in Indy is El Sol, on the near east side of downtown Indy. It isn't as upscale as the rest, though, so I'm not sure it will fit your plans. It's also in a less attractive neighborhood, but it's really cleaned up since it's opening as a hole in the wall restaurant years back! You'll really enjoy the festive atmosphere! It's traditional Mexican fare--the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot of Mexican fare. I think they are well known for their Margaritas (although I have not tried those yet), and make sure to try the queso dip if you go. Here's a link:http://indianapolis.citysearch.com/profile/3945522/
Hope that helps! Some other restaurants worth considering are: Buca Di Beppo (italian, family style, downtown), Bertolini's (Italian, downtown in the mall, dressy), Mezzaluna (Mediterranean, in Broadripple).
