I am staying at the Dolce Heritage in Southbury, CT in July.
Has anyone eaten at the restaurant there (Eight Mile Brook), is it a good restaurant and/or can anyone recommend a good restaurant in the area (preferably one w/ nice view or outdoor dining - something good for a special occasion)

I've never been to the Eight Mile Brook but you may want to consider expanding your search to other areas since some of the nearby towns might offer better options. Try Danbury (Cafe on the Green has a nice golf course view, but I haven't been there in awhile) or Ridgefield for more choices. Brewster, NY is about 30 minutes away but if you want a very nice restaurant I'd recommend Capriccios or The Arch. They are both expensive but very nice and with lovely reservoir views.
Another special occasion restaurant about 13 miles from Southbury is the one at the Mayflower Inn in Washington, CT. Great atmosphere - lovely grounds too - call to see if there is outdoor dining.
