Help needed! We are an extended family group of 12 (teens are all 16+ and adults) from australia visiting disney world & surrounds over new year 2012/2013. We are staying at sheraton vistana & would love some dining options that I can book ahead to avoid any daily dining confusion ![]()
Included if anyone can suggest an 18th birthday dining option for a boy that would be great too!
Also, I was wanting to know if you book dining at downtown disney do you have to have a disney ticket? We will be in orlando region for 7 days but are only going to go for a 3 day chopper pass.
Any help with suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The Downtown Disney area is composed of shops and restaurants and does not require any kind of ticket. I don't have any specific dining suggestions for you but if you are planning to do any table service dining at the Disney Parks or Downtown Disney you should book ASAP. That's a very busy time and reservations can be hard to get. Allears.net has extensive info (including menus) for Disney restaurants. Disboards.com is a great place to ask questions.
There are some off-property restaurants that aren't chains and might accept reservations, but most of the options are fast-casual or casual dining and don't accept them. Someone asked the question about good off-property restaurants a few weeks ago, but I can't remember the poster or title of the thread.
I think you all would enjoy Bahama Breeze in Lake Buena Vista (near Disney World. The food is "Floribbean" with very creative and tasty entrees and moderate prices. I don't think they take reservations, but think they have what's known as "call ahead seating" where you call ahead and tell them how many are in your party and when you'll be arriving. Then when you arrive, they put your name at the top of the list of those already waiting. http://www.bahamabreeze.com/locations/?restaurantid=3016
