Heading to the Destin area this summer and was looking at Destin West.
Found this by accident and it looks good, but it begs the question are the other resorts like this in that area? Our group is mom and dad with older teens. Thought about renting a house, but being in a resort seems like more fun....
If we decide to go the resort route we are looking for multiple pools with easy beach access. In addition, a place where we can sit on the beach right in front of the resort. Been off the beach in the past and was tired of having find public access areas.

Sorry. I reread your post. The reviews on tripadvisor are mixed and some of the rentals included things you didn't want.
Do you know about places like Seaside, Rosemary Beach, Watercolor? It may be more of what you are looking for.
