Desert Hot Springs Spa Hotel

My husband and I are planning a stay at the Desert Hot Springs Hotel in late March. We found it on-line and thought it looked interesting with it's hot springs and beautiful view of the mountains. We are looking for 5 solid days of relaxation. Is anyone familiar with it? Thank you for any insight you can give us.

Just came back from Desert Springs Marriot Resort and Spa-don't think it's the same hotel but the area is breathtaking! Picture sandy desert, palm trees, lush greens with striking beautiful colored flowers of orange, reds, yellows, all this with a backdrop of mountains, some with snow peaks. It is nearly a sensory overload. Very pricy area. Rooms there were +300/night and they were corporate rates. But everything is there, including golfing, Jose Eber, full spa. Hope you enjoy your vacation.

My Auto Club book lists DHSSH as a 3 star hotel and says 2P/2B is $59. There is another that sounds nice called Orchid Tree Inn in Palm Springs. No hot mineral spas tho, near the heart of the village, shops and dining, recommended as "Best Place to Stay in California" National Trust for Historic Preservation, AAA rated, Video and Coupons avail. 1/800 733-3435. Yours sounds nice though!!

tHE LAST TIME I was there I got their name from the local Chamber of Commerce in town. Their listing said it was $59 a day which I thought was great sooo we drove over. At the FRONT DESK they said it was $99 a night! I said the Chamber of Commerce said it was $59! They said WHATS THE NAME OF THE WOMAN YOU SPKE TOO? etc. etc. very rude! I went to the spa desk to make a massage appt. so I was in the lobby for a while - and every person was quoted different rates depending what they thought they could get out of you! SOOOO - I went to a PAY PHONE and CALLED THEM and said I have the Chamber of COmmerce list in front of me and I wanted a room - they said how much do you want to Pay!(ha-ha-ha) so I said well I just want an inexpensive room - they said hold on then came back on the line and said how about $59 - I said great I'll be right over - You should have seen the look of one of the desk clerks face after she saw I had just checked in for $59 since she had just put me through the mill not 25 minutes prior! She Knew I knew (and hoped I wouldn't tell) uuuppps

Stayed @ the Marriott's Desert Springs Resort in Palm Desert last December with 6 of my girlfriends to celebrate my 45th birthday. My husband is still madd because he didn't get to go. The golf is among the best in the desert and the spa, well, I could spend days there. The rooms are just rooms. But the views are great. We (my friends and I) are returning again this year.

Sounds like name confusion here---are you talking about the Marriott hotel or some other Desert Hot Springs Spa????? Best to check exactly what you are asking for.
