Will be moving to Des Moines, Iowa soon. Would like to have some information about the place. Any kid attractions? Love Italian food and would like to know of any good Italian restaurants there. Does Des Moines/the Midwest have a medium/large Italian population?

Topping
You will meet some of the nicest people, Italian and other in Des Moines. Lots to see and do. Kids attractions include Adventureland and Blank Park Zoo, Botanical garden, Living History Farm. Des Moines hosts the Iowa State Fair every year, has the Chicago Cub farm team, arena football, Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, Drake University along with other higher learning institutes. The shopping is fine as are the restaurants (lots to choose from). Not the sleepy little midwestern town most people invision.... Good Golf, boating on Saylorville Lake, etc. Enjoy your new adventure.
Haven't eaten here in a few years. When I go to Des Moines I always go here for dinner. Tursi's Latin King has never disappointed for Italian.
