Deep Creek Lake

We are looking for someplace to vacation with our daughter who lives in Canaan Valley, West Virginia. I heard from a friend about Deep Creek Lake. If we rented a house on the lake, are there other things to do in the area? We have never been to that area of the country. We would be staying 1 week.
