D.C. water taxi
While we're in DC next month, I'd like to take the water taxi from the Nationals stadium area over to Georgetown. Looking at the website for American River Taxi and giving them a call, it appears that the taxi isn't running right now. I wonder if anyone has any info about whether it is still a going concern, when the season might open for taxi service (appears to be somewhat focused on sales of Hovercraft based on the website and answering machine message), how much it might cost (can't find rates on the website -- maybe I'm missing it) and approximately how often they run (e.g., does it run a couple of times a day or lots of times a day).
If you have any info about the approximate amount of time it might take to walk from the Courtyard Marriott at 140 L Street to the wharf, and ditto from the wharf when it arrives in/near Georgetown to, say, access to the C&O Canal trail/walkway, I'd sure appreciate that also.
Thanks very much.

Is this right before or right after a Nationals game?

Doesn't look like a very viable going concern to me. DC is sinking in tourists at the moment so if they aren't up and running now I personally wouldn't count on them or their answering machine for much business. Their twitter said they would not be running for the Nat's opening day but that "soon" they'd have year round transpiration. OK.

The company tomfuller linked launches from Alexandria and Maryland, not Georgetown.

Obx: I agree, it doesn't look like an active company, but I thought maybe they only run in the "summer." I don't do Twitter.
TomF: The game is Friday night. I thought we'd get up Saturday morning and head over to Georgetown. Getting there by water taxi would be fun. Used the water taxi in Baltimore and it was a great way to get to Fells Point (hotel) and rest our feet, enjoy the breeze, see the waterfront areas. Was hoping to do the same. So far, the American River taxi was the only one I found that seemed to have convenient stops (i.e., near Nationals stadium and near Georgetown). If you all know of another company, I'd love a link or name.
Thanks for advice.
