DC trip: Any Sports Bars in Alexandria VA for DC United Soccer game?
I'll be in DC from Thurs-Sun & on Saturday my hubby & I want to check out Alexandria, VA. But my hubby is a huge DC United Soccer fan & they'll be playing @ 3pm. Any good bars near old town alexandria where we might be able to catch the game?
PS - it would be even better if the bar had good food (for me to enjoy) & I might be asking for too much, but maybe some quaint shops nearby (for me to sneak out to every so often from the game). But I do realize I'm asking for alot, so anything will do.
THANKS!!!

There's Bugsy's on King Street in Old Town. It's a Pizza place and I would call first to make sure they plan on showing the game. The pizza is supposed to be good, but I haven't eaten there.
It may be worth driving into DC (it's not far) to go to the ESPN Zone. More TVs and the food is pretty good as sports bars go. The game is supposed to be on ABC, so you have a good shot of catching it at ESPN Zone.

Skipop-
Thanks for the Bugsy rec. I looked at their webpage & called them --- they 'think' they'll play the game. So that's one possible spot to watch it at. And their pizza does look good.
Thanks.

Does it have to be Alexandria? Lucky Bar in DC (Connecticut Ave) usually plays all the games and there are many options for you to wander, shop, and eat nearby.

You could also call Ireland's Own in Alexandria to see if they'll be playing the game...who doesn't like a nice pint of Guinness with their football?

Skipop - thanks for the "blackout" info. I'll look into it before we plan where to go on Sat.
Beanweb24 - Lucky Bar looks perfect & our hotel is off of Dupont Circle. The truth is we're going to be in DC from Thurs-Sun at a B&B off Dupont Circle. We wanted to take a day trip to Old Town Alexandria (to get away from the tons of tourists - like ourselves - that are visiting DC for the Cherry Blossoms). We chose to go to Alexandria on Saturday & we might still be there by the time the game starts. So we figured we'll find a bar/pub in Alexandria to watch the game & then head back to DC. I'll call Ireland's Own to get more info. But in case we decide to head back to DC in time for the game, Lucky Bar seems like a good choice.
THANKS!
