DC in Dec-Restaurant ideas near Hilton Mark Alexandria

Driving from FL to D.C. in early Dec. We'd love some suggestions for reasonably priced restaurants near the Hilton, offering lunch/dinner. Just the 2 of us.

The only restaurant I can think of close to that hotel is Clyde's at Mark Center (less than 1/2 mile from the hotel.) Clyde's would be a good place to eat either lunch or dinner.

It's a bit of a dining wasteland in the immediate area. Does the hotel have a shuttle to get to Old Town Alexandria or are you willing to drive? Many many options there. Also in near by Shirlington. Clyde's is fine. I wouldn't drive out of my way for it but it's about the best you've got there.

I know you didn't ask for this advice, so please ignore me if you're all set, but I have to ask: are you there as tourists? Because it's not really the best location for touring around DC, even if there's a shuttle to Old Town and the nearest Metro station.

Again, if my question is irrelevant, never mind, and have a good trip!

(Your thread caught my eye because I used to live near that hotel, a thousand years ago )

Go left on Seminary Rd, go down to Baileys Crossroads and Columbia pike, about 5 min down Seminary from hotel. Lots of great ethnic restaurants there. fantastic german place for lunch called German Gourmet. lots of great restaurants, Thai, other Asian, Peruvian, etc in that area

You can google Baileys. Crossroads restaurants to see what is available in the area above. Duangrats is good for Thai and they have a traditional thai dance show at dinner time also.

Thanks for all the suggestions. That Thai restaurant sounds intriguing. And my Dad use to live right @ Bailey's Crossroads!
