My wife and I are going out a couple days early to a wedding in Boise this weekend.
I was thinking of driving somewhere nearby, spending the night, maybe doing some hiking, then returning to Boise in time for the wedding events.
Can anyone recommend a place to go? We love hiking and the outdoors, and can drive up to maybe 125 miles or so from Boise.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

On a recent road trip to Utah from Seattle we spent a night in Stanley, ID, on our way home, and it was one of our favorite stops along the way.
Stanley is a 134-mile drive from Boise along a scenic highway.
We spent the night at the Riverside Motel in unit #7, which has a deck overlooking the Salmon River with the Sawtooth Mountains in the distance. The friendly folks at the motel can give you hiking tips.
You could return to Boise via the same route or, if you are up to a longer drive, you could return there via Sun Valley, Ketchum, and Hailey
