Traveling on Sunday afternoon from Danbury area to Baltimore. Any suggestions for a good route that avoids long backups at tolls in NJ and MD?

EZ Pass
We have EZPass, but have found that back up is there anyway and it doesn't help until we get close to the booths.
Hope for a rainy weekend. There really is not a viable alternate route that is not either way out of the way, on roads so rural as to be unhelpful, or has already been figured out by large numbers of locals.
I am assuming you are going over TappanZee Bridge and not GW Bridge - the former is, in my opinion, a far superior route, although many mapping programs and GPS systems do not agree.
You could go through PA, it's a little out of the way, but it's what we do now you could go 684 - Saw Mill - 287 (over TZ bridge) - 78 - 81, we find it a far better ride (and toll free!)
