CT - things to do inside for a bunch of guys

Hi all,

My husband is hosting a bachelor party for my BIL this weekend and they had planned to go sport fishing on the coast. HOWEVER, there is now a possible hurricane coming -- so those plans are off. Now he's at a loss as to what to do.

Anyone have any brilliant ideas for things to do indoors for a bunch of guys?
There will be 6 of them and we are located in NW connecticut, within driving distance to NYC, Hudson Valley and Lower MA. They'd like to stay within a 2hour drive.

Thanks in advance!!

oops forgot to say -- the only thing we've thought of so far is going to the casino. However, noone is a big gambler so we're really hoping for an alternative.

NYC seems like the obvious place too me, since the casino(s) have already been ruled out.

Hmmm. That's a tough one.

What about getting a private room at a sports bar? Or an authentic bbq restaurant? Or getting a catered shore dinner?

They may enjoy the Sports Book (racing, jai lai) at Foxwoods more than ``regular'' gambling. There is also the Teletheater OTB (dog races, I think) near Bradley airport.

Here are some indoor sports facilities in CT: Connecticut Sports Center, Connecticut Sportsplex, SportsCenter of Connecticut. Indoor kart racing at Willy D's or On Trak Karting in Wallingford.

Indoor paintball?

There is an indoor wind tunnel in Nasuha NH (fake skydiving).

Nashua also has private rooms you can rent at the pool table place. I forget the name of it since I hope we do not have to go there again. The room we were in had 2 or 3 pool tables. The place will cater food and the wait staff is very nice. We had a cash bar so the waitresses kept circulating taking drink orders.

Check out what is happening for shows, comedy, etc. at what was the Oakdale in Walllingford or Hartford Stage or Goodspeed, or Chester, or at the casinos ( they don't have to gamble to go to the shows, get a room and use the health facilities,etc.). If they are nerdy enough, they could do the air museum in Windsor Locks, or any of the other ones, the Indian museum at Foxwoods is neat, Mystic Seaport, or one of the Aquariums. Of course the storm may go out to sea and they can go fishing anyway.

Thanks to all for your suggestions!

It looks like its really going to POUR on saturday here, so Im so glad I started the emergency planning here!

They are going to do the mini cart racing (thanks capxxx)-- which I think looks like a riot!!

Now we need to find a good place to have lunch in or near Wallingford.
Any ideas?

Thanks again!!

For lunch in Wallingford it depends on what they want...

For more like a sports bar atmosphere with good food:
Archie Moore's right in the center of Wallingford
Humphrey's of Wallingford (this should be right behind the track by the movie theater)
