CT or RI Beaches?
From Mass. and looking for a quick overnight trip for July 25-26 (1 nt.), in RI or CT. Not familiar with RI or CT beaches and would like recommendations for a good place to go that has some night life too, or something close by. Need hotel/motel recommendations! Newport is out of the question, as the only rooms left are $300/nt. or have a 2-nt. minimum. Does Mystic have a good beach?

In Misquamicut, we spent a night at the Breezeway Resort. It's nothing fancy but very pleasant and a few blocks from the beach. Unfortuantely it was cold and rainy but the beach looked good from what we could tell.

Thanks for the suggestions! We decided on the Point 1 Resort at Misquamicut for $155/nt. (the 2nd time I called they waived the "2-nt. minimum"). I guess I lucked out. Just hoping it's a decent place as there are no pix on their website. Thanks again all!

Back from the trip and thought I would finish the thread for future posters reference. The Point 1 Resort was not great, but waking distance to beach. Paddy's Beach Restaurant was totally overpriced and food was average, though it was busy because it was literally on the beach ($100 for dinner). Misquamicut beach had good surf. We decided to go to Newport and look around rather than spend the day @ the beach. Thanks to all that responded!
