We are heading to the Pigeon Forge area on December 27 for about 5 days. I haven't been there in about 10 years. Is it ridiculously crowded at that time? If we went to Dollywood or the Aquarium would we regret it? I am afraid it would be so crowded it would be hard to see shows or there would be long lines for the rides. I'm wondering if we should change our travel destination to someplace not as touristy during this time. We are traveling with a 6 and 8 year old. So far I want to do the two places mentioned above and also Cades Cove and the Gem Mining. I wanted to do Roaring Fork Nature Trail but discovered it is closed in the Winter. We are staying at the Hampton Inn on Stadium Drive in Sevierville.
So whatcha think? Thanks for any input!

Your kids would love one of the zipline tours. We went with Climbworks Canopy and thought they were great. Hike to Grotto Falls, Laurel Falls, and Clingmon's Dome are all short very nice hikes. Abram Falls is good too, which is at Cades Cove, it is a bit longer though.
Can't really help you with Christmas crowd knowledge. I've been there in the summer and I wouldn't think it would be any busier after Christmas than in the summer.
We were there at Christmas a couple of years ago and it was still busy. A lot of people stay Christmas till New Year Day. I would book or buy tickets to shows in advance.
Your childrwn are going to love all the Christmas lights. Make sure to check out The Village in Gatlinburg for some great pictures. Have fun and be safe
So, OP, how is it?
Probably stuck in traffic. lol
