Cross Country Road Trip NH to Seattle
Hey Everyone,
I am planning to drive from New Hampshire to Seattle towards the end of this summer and am looking for suggestions or ideas of places to stop along the way. The ends of the trip are fairly set; I am planning to drive from NH to Philadelphia and stay there with friends for a few days, and at the other end I am planning to stay with some friends in Jackson, WY once I make it there.
In between Philly and Jackson though, my trip is rather wide open. I am driving with one other person, and both of us are comfortable driving long distances in a single day if necessary. I have about 4-5 days allocated for between Philly and Jackson, so not too many stops will be pssible, but a couple will. All suggestions are welcome and thanks for the input!

May or may not be of interest, but I did a fairly high speed Philly > Seattle trip a couple of years ago, and filed a report on Flyertalk - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trip-...back-ford.html

Not sure you can do it in 4-5 days, but here's one suggestion...
after Chicago swing north and pick up I-90, make a brief stop at the famous Wall Drug in Wall, SD and then the Mount Rushmore.
At Buffalo, WY go north to US 14 and into Cody thence through Yelowstone and on toe Jackson...OR
At Buffalo south on 16 to Thermopolis and Riverston , then 26 inyo Grand Teton Park
Faster I-80 to Rock Springs, WY then north om US 191 in Jackosn.
Leaving, 26 to Idaho Falls then I-15 to I-90 to US 93 into Glacier Park area. LEaving backtrack to 90 and on to Seattle.
Faster yet, skip Glacier and after Jackson head for 90 and onward.

I've been to Yellowstone and Glacier multiple times, so those are unlikely to be included. I was thinking about driving through SD to see Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse, etc. just briefly while on the road.
Unfortunately there is not a ton of flexibility for how much time I can take because I have to get back before grad school starts back up towards the end of august.
There are obviously lots of great places to visit along the way, but I was wondering if there are any must sees or anything unique that one might not think of. Also suggestions of places to stop to eat are always encouraged...
