Cooper Landing/Seward/Homer lodging help!

Hi -- I'm looking for feedback on some accommodations before I make a decision:

The Princess Wilderness Lodge/Cooper Landing
The Seward Windsong Lodge
The Tutka Bay Lodge
The Land's End

Also, is Cooper Landing very far from Seward (i.e. could we stay at the Princess and feasibly make an AM Kenai Fjords boat trip?

And are there any opinions about staying at Tutka Bay on the other side of Kachemak Bay, vs. right on the Spit in Homer?

We will be going in September and our main interests involve fishing and hiking.

THANKS!

Jodi

The Princess Lodge in Cooper Landing looked very nice and is on the Kenai River which is convenient for fishing/rafting.

In Seward, The Windsong looked nice but is out of town. We really enjoyed being in town where we could see the bay, great mountain scenery and the boats and ships coming and going. For that, the Edgewater is a better choice, IMO.

I forgot...

You could drive to Seward from Cooper Landing for a Kenai Fjord boat trip. Give yourself an hour or so to get there.

The Princess Lodge in Cooper Landing is absolutely wonderful - we stayed two days in September 2000 and absolutely hated to leave. The resturant is wonderful, too. And the view of the river is incredible. We had a wonderful time fishing with Kenai Cache.

It took us about 90 minutes to get to Seward from Cooper Landing.

Land's End is in a wonderful location on the water and you can look out your window and see otters and sometimes whales.
