Considering New England trip in Aug - where to go??

Jump to last reply

My bf and I are considering a trip to New England this summer (Early August). Neither of us have ever been anywhere in N.E. besides Boston and we're thinking of going to Maine or Rhode Island but I have no idea where to go or what to do there. We're both in our 20s so we would ideally be looking for a place that has interesting restaurants, bars, etc. Bf is a big beach person, I prefer shopping..so a place that could combine the two interests would be great :) Most likely we'd go to Boston for two days or so to visit friends and then go somewhere else. No Cape Cod, because I have friends who live there and I've been before.

Any ideas?

We'd be driving there, and staying about 5 days. Thanks!
