Yes, Greensboro/High Point Area. My husband and I would be working in Greensboro and so we do not want a lengthy commute. The major factor is finding a good high school. We are coming from the Northeast and so we are well versed in snow and cold! Thanks

Speaking frankly, many towns in the South, like Boston in Massachusetts, continue to suffer from the effects of the great white flight of the 1960's.

There are towns in the South with terrific, well-integrated public school systems and there are towns where everyone who can afford it sends their kids to private schools, even though they continue to pay taxes to support the public system.

If your husband aready has a job offer, inquiring of his new colleagues will at least let you know what they think and do, whether or not you choose to do it yourself. A real estate agent will steer you to a neighborhood that locals believe is appropriate for people like you. If you emphasize schools as important/critical, they will take that into account.

My famiy moved every three years, and I went to three different high schools, very different all of them. It is tough to move in high school, but I am _much_ better off than many of the kids who stayed in the same place all through school and subsequently all through their lives.

That's a pretty nice area of North Carolina. There are good universities and excellent medical care. You are well-located for trips to the mountains or the beach and you are equidistant from Washington DC and Charleston. You could leave in the morning and be sightseeing in the afternoon.

Congratulations on considering the Greensboro/High Point area! I volunteer for the school district so I get to spend some time in many of the different schools. I, personally, prefer the Greensboro area schools. My son goes to Page HS, but Grimsley is also a nationally recognized school. Northern HS is also a wonderful pick. Guilford County also has some wonderful magnet programs to consider!!
