Connecting bags AA to LH in FRA

I am flying on Flt 70 from DFW to a LH flight to MUC in September, but. I haven't booked the LH flight as I need some help/feedback on the following.
1. Can I book my bags thru to MUC even though AA is "One World" and LH is "Star Alliance" ?
2. The estimated TOA for flt 70 into FRA is 8:30am and I can get a flight to MUC at 9:45am..
If (1) is positive is there enough time to clear customs etc to get this flight. Are the AA arrival and LH departure terminals fairly close.
Many thanks for your help with this..
Regards

Are you using one ticket or two separate tickets? It is unclear to me what you are asking.

You will go through immigration at FRA and customs at MUC. American and Lufthansa have an interline baggage agreement, so if it's all on one ticket (e.g. one you buy from Expedia, Orbitz, etc.) then no problem, your bags will be sent through.

You will need to transfer terminals, so while 1:15 is probably "legal" I wouldn't do it personally.

If your flights are on one ticket, you'll be put on flights that do have legal connections, so if you're late the obligation will be on the airlines to get you to Munich. If you buy separate tickets and misconnect, you run the risk of having to purchase a walk-up ticket at a much higher price.

Hello,
I currently have one ticket on AA to Frankfurt.
The response to my questions will dictate the time flight I will book for the leg to Munich. The flight to Munich I would like leaves at 9:55am.
As my flight from the USA doesn't get in until 8:30am I am not sure, based on my q

Part 2..
based on my questions.
It does seem with two tickets I cannot take advantage of any "Interline Agreement" between AA and LH. Also the time between landing and the LH flight leaving isn't adequate so will look for an early afternoon flight from FRA to MUC..
Many thanks to "fmpden" and "Gardyloo"

Take Gardyloo's advice.

"You will need to transfer terminals, so while 1:15 is probably "legal" I wouldn't do it personally."

She probably knows more about European airports than anyone else in Fodor's.

You do not need to be on one ticket to interline your bags. Just give the LH info to AA checkin agent at DFW.

Whether or not you should book the 2nd ticket with the short connection is another matter not related to baggage. There are flights from FRA to MUC just about every hour all day long. I'd book a later flight myself.

I've made many 50min connections and missed several 90min connections at FRA over the years. It really all depends on the incoming flight.
