Condo or B & B in Kauai

Jump to last reply

Hello all...My husband and I will be traveling to Hawaii in March for our 30th anniversary. My husband and I are in our mid fifties and are fairly active as we bike, hike, kayak, paddleboard and work out at the gym several times a week..
#1 Our first stop is in Oahu where we will spend 6 days with family stationed on the Naval base. We will be renting a car to keep ourselves busy while the family works. We'll be keeping fairly active here with paddleboarding, hiking Diamond Head, maybe Stairway to Heaven ;), Koko Crater, Pearl Harbor, a luau and whatever else the family might suggest.
#2 The second half of our trip will be in Kauai. Also renting a car here. We'll spend 7 days there doing a photo tour, hiking, whale watching, ziplining and kayaking. Somewhere in there we'll find some time to sit back and relax. :) However, right now I'm trying to book lodging and I'm not sure whether we should stay at a condo or at a B&B. We've enjoyed B&B's in Europe but I was wondering if a condo might be the better way to go in Kauai.

Any input on our itinerary and on lodging in Kauai is very much appreciated. I've been researching online and in travel books and am ashamed to know that I am so ignorant of our 50th state! There is so much to learn! Forgive me if my post is too vague or lacking info that you might need.
