comfort inn

Has anyone ever stayed at the Comfort Inn and suites at the Boston airport? It sounds nice from the online description. I was also wondering if it is close to a T-stop and/or restaurants. Thanks in advance for the help! Terri

Not sure about access to public transportation -- but I DO know that this "airport" hotel is THREE MILES from the airport. It's in Revere, which is renowned as one of Boston's, um, less-glamourous suburbs.

Many hotel chains list hotels as "Boston/Airport" but are actually miles from airport (as this one is). Since hotels are so expensive in Boston, they either con people or provide a decent alternative - depending on your aggravation tolerance. They are not near the airport and no where near the center of Boston - usually on secondary roads with lots of strip malls (and some strip clubs as well!) If the address is Revere, East Boston, Malden, you are not likely to be near anything a visitor would want to see (no offense intended to people who live in these places) and will likely face annoying transportation into heart of Boston.

As far as restaurants, if you like pizza and subs, you are all set - for anything else, look elsewhere. Some places advertise shuttle to MBTA and/or airport, and have heard mixed reviews about actual operation of such.
If you are staying at airport to save some money, you may end up negating the savings in cab rides.

However, if you need/want to be near airport, from the outside this place looks fine from a drive-by.

As others have mentioned, many chains have truly misleading location designations, especially for Boston.

The nearest subway station to the Comfort Inn in Revere is half a mile walking.

And, I, too, have found alleged shuttle services unreliable.

The Comfort Inn is located along busy (a road to the airport, obiously) US-1A. There is nothing exactly objectionable about the neighborhood, but nothing to recommend it either.

Anyone have any info on the Comfort Inn at 900 Morrissey Boulevard, Boston, MA, 02122? I've had decent luck with the Comfort Inns as a chain, I just can't tell what area of the city it is in. "Basic" is OK; just concerned about safety. Transportation to the city is not an issue. Thanks in advance for the help!

Hello, mortalwombat. As I recall, the Morrissey Blvd Comfort Inn is in Dorchester. They offer a shuttle to the T as they don't seem to want their guests to walk around - Dorchester has on-going public safety isses, depending on tne neighborhood. There are two properties at that location - Comfort Inn and maybe Quality Inn? One faces the bowling alley and was *very* noisy- as in boombox - at night. (Road noise does not bother us - it *is* the city.) Security responded promptly but I suspect that this is an on-going issue. The other faces in the opposite direction and is quiet. Both were acceptable in terms of cleanliness, etc. Front desk should be able to tell you about each property as they are co-owned. The rates were friendly, they had walk-in availability, the shuttle was reliable. We would return. Have a nice time.
