I spent some time researching this topic and I had no luck finding information except for the Sprit of Portland dinner cruises, which people seem to like.
At the Travel Portland web site, I found a link to Adventure Cruises & Tours. The itinerary looks good, and they have apparently been offering cruises on the Columbia and Snake Rivers for some time: http://www.travelportland.com/cgi-bi...0&words=cruise
Note that the first entry is for AAA Oregon/Idaho. Were I interested in a Columbia River Cruise, I would call or visit my AAA travel department. I trust AAA to avoid booking me on a cruise that other members have found disappointing.

Lindblad (www.expeditions.com) offers this cruise when they reposition their ships from Alaska to Baja. I haven't done the Oregon cruise but their other trips and they were excellent.

Thank you for your input - I did find this company that deals in just small cruise ships and have heard of 2 that I'm thinking about - the Island Spirit and the Safari Explorer (each holds about 36 passengers) - will continue to investigate and once I do go will give a trip report for others!
