Cocoa Beach - Radisson Resort Q & Snorkelling Q
Hi All,
We're tacking on about 5 days after Disney World to hang out and relax with our 8 and 10 year old daughters. We're thinking Cocoa Beach since we're doing the quickie Disney cruise and it's close to Orlando for our early morning flight out.
That said, does anyone know how the Radisson Resort at the Port will measure up re: enough amenities, good pool for the kids and nice rooms etc.? I know it's not right on the beach but hopefully it's relatively close by.
Also, I'm doubting this, but is there any decent snorkelling close by or even on the close gulf side. We could probably be lured over to the gulf side if there was great snorkelling within a few hours of Orlando. BTW this will be around March 17 - 22 so water will be cold I'm sure (but we're northerners so would tough it out for good snorkelling!).
Thanks for any help.

No snorkeling in Cocoa Beach.
On the gulf side of central Florida, Egmont Key State Park, reachable only by ferry. Not snorkeled there.

Fresh water snorkeling in Homossassa Springs area 2 hr north of Tampa on the Gulf side. You'd snorkel a spring fed river and drift in the current and see turtles, fish, family friendly:

2 hours NW from Orlando. Water might be warmer.
If you have the time, (5 days) and snorkeling is what you're up for, I recommend south Florida for a few of those days. Take snorkel trips out of Biscayne National Park &/or John Pennekamp State Park. You could stay in Miami.
