clear blue water?
Is there a beach in Hawaii that compares to a typical clear blue water beach in the Caribbean? I understand that Hawaii has it's own special beauty but just wonder if that type of beach exists there?

John, thank you SO much. I couldn't access that link but I did look up Lanikai Beach. I am blown away! I've only been to Maui. Are the rest of the beaches like this on Oahu? I just got 2ft of snow this weekend. That beach will shine in my mind all day.

Kailua and Lanikai are my favorite beaches on Oahu (and possibly all of Hawaii). Waimanalo is also nice. These are all on the windward shore. They are the only ones that I'd even venture to compare to the Caribbean.

There's a distinction to be made here. Do you want beach, clear blue water, or both? Hawaii has clear blue water even where there aren't beaches. My husband and I get good beaches in south Texas when we visit family, but the water is usually murky. When we went to the Big island, we didn't care about beaches, just a protected area where we could get into the water. The water was incredible in Hawaii.
