circus-circus in Reno
HI! I read terrible reviews about the circus circus in Las Vegas. Is that the same for Reno? We have a king mini-suite reserved and the pictures that you see on their web page looks nice enough however; you never know until you stay. Should we stay there? Thanks

Patricia,
We stayed there a few months ago. It was just and overnight before we caught an early flight out of Reno, but The rooms are as nice as the pictures. We had a one bedroom suite and it was exceptionally well done. We were surprised because we'd heard so many negative things about casino hotels. We ate in the main restaurant and took our kids to the "carnival" area--we enjoyed both.

Patricia,
hope my message is not late. We've stayed at Circus in Reno twice, once with 2 children, once without. Hotel is good, clean, we liked it. The only problem we had 2nd time - it's a family hotel, and if you travel without children the other's children are annoying and noisy, they seem always to get in your way everywhere - in the escalators, buffet, halls. Or maybe I'd just missed my own?

Patricia,
I've stayed at both the circus circus in reno and las vegas. In reno, circus circus was the most affordable..$21per night in early January( a yr or 2 ago). The room was very clean and my experience there was good. The one in las vegas was wonderful. We had a good deal on a suite that had a great view..it wasn't the manor room but in the tower. Both experiences there were very satisfying. Oh, by the way, if you are in Reno and crave something hot and "soupy" before hitting the slopes, check out the Golden Flower Vietnamese restaurant(775-323-1628). I think they have the best Pho (beef noodle soup) in Reno.

Do NOT eat in the buffet! You will get sick! The midway is fun - lots of carnival games, but if you do not like children, stay away. Noisy and loud. Rooms are nicer than expected. Personally, I prefer the connecting Eldorado Hotel & Casino or the Silver Legacy. Harrah's, a few blocks away, is lovely and more low-key.
