Christmas shopping in Hollywood
We are going there for ONE night for a business dinner. We are staying at the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel. Anyone stayed there? Is there any good Christmas shopping nearby? What would be the closest mall to the hotel?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Well in the neighborhood you can find a wonderful assortment for your punkest of friends. Leather studded dog collars and crotch removed panties are all the rage. You can find purple wigs and Frederick's of Hollywood trashy lingerie. There is a huge assortment of t-shirts and jokes and gag novelties, and there are some vintage clothing stores. That's just about it.
Standard malls just like you probably have at home abound in the suburbs, but why not buy the same stuff at home where you wouldn't have to carry it home? There are a few gift stores, ala mall variety in the "mall" adjacent to the Kodak Theatre.
Do you have specific types of items you are looking for? If so, perhaps someone can suggest specialty stores where you'll find them.

Thanks Patrick. Don't have a mall at home. We live in a very small town 100 miles from any Nordstrom.
That is what I need. A mall with a Nordstrom and the rest of the stuff to go with it. Christmas shopping from places that allow returns, is the idea. Picky family, ya know.

There's a new plaza right across the street from the Roosevelt, I think the website is hollywoodandhighland.com
The Hollywood museum has a neat Christmas tree display...a Marilyn Monroe tree, a Lucy tree...etc

i second hollywood and highland. no nordstroms but there is coach, american eagle, express, bebe, banana republic, gap, victorias secret, sephora and a bunch of other stores and restaurants. also, try to get to beverly center it's not TOO far away. It's really nice with tons of different stores, no Nordstroms but a Bloomingdales and a Macy's.
