Christmas market in Grand Central

Is this worth checking out or is it the usual wooden toys and fake Christmas wreaths?

I haven't been there this year or last, but they always had very nice vendors other years. The light show is the cheesiest thing I've ever seen, but the market was always nice.

The one in Union Square looks fantastic too. I passed through quickly the other night and would love to go back and shop.

They have diverse vendors who make their own jewelry, hats, and clothing and those who sell satndard scarves and such.

Union Square has many more kiosks with many more choices plus the kinetic energy that is Union Square.

Yes, I've bought some nice quality handmade holiday gifts at both markets over the years. Some stuff is the usual junk, but the preponderance of items are unique, quality crafts, jewelry, clothing, artworks, etc. Well worth checking out, IMHO.

We bought a few beautiful Christmas ornaments in the GC market last year. The prices were, I thought, generally much too high for the goods offered. They may be more reasonable this year.

GCS is pretty good this year. But check out Bryant Park - 42nd st behind the library. Very nice vendors.

I agree wholeheartedly about Bryant Park. There are some excellent vendors (I got a pair of earrings last year that I love), and it's so pretty with the skating rink.

I've purchased some very nice handmade things there - some jewelry and Christmas ornaments. Don't think I've ever seen a fake Christmas wreath.

I agree that Bryant Park is also well worth checking out, and I'm putting the Union Square one on my list for next time.
