We will be spending the holidays in Newport this year, 12/22-12/26. I'm hoping for any suggestions on accommodations for 4 adults, or anyplace that is especially decked out for the season. Thanks for your help!

Last year, just after Thanksgiving, we stayed at the Castle Hill Inn - by the time we left, they had begun to welcome the holiday season--the Inn is enchanting, the service top notch, the restaurant always top rated. We stayed in the Turret Suite which was worth the extra money. The inn features a daily tea that is just heaven--their website is : http://www.castlehillinn.com
The Inn at Castle Hill is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful inns on the coast in New England-however, you will need a car to take you in to Newport for any walks or shopping or sightseeing. Two other suggestions you might consider is the Mill Street Inn, which is in the heart of Newport (but on a quiet street and during the holidays Newport tends to be on the quieter side) or The Chanler Inn, which is right on the coast but closer to Newport and the seaside. The Cliff Walk begins/ends at this recently renovated inn. If you chose not to stay at the Chanler then please consider the inn's restaurant, The Spiced Pear for a brunch or dinner. It's absolutely divine.
