My family and I (from UK) will be spending Christmas in Orlando. We plan to stay at the Wyndham Palace and Spa at Lake Buena Vista. I just wondered if anyone could give me an idea of what entertainment etc to expect!
Is is worth going to the WDW parks actually on Christmas Day - or are the crowds too big? Do you recommend Christmas Eve or Christmas Day for visiting?
Is 26th December a national holiday like it is in the UK?

Our family went to WDW the past two years for X-mas. Never stayed at Lake Buena Vista we stayed at Dixie Landings, another property on site. What I can tell you is that X-mas week is the busiest of the entire year with lots of crowds. The good thing is that the parks are open until mid-night and the crowds thin out by 9pm at night. We go early in the morning, go back to our room and then head back out at night. My children ages 6,7,8,12 don't mind being up late. You will love how wonderful it is decorated at Christmas time. Have a lovely time.
Christmas Day is more crowded than Eve; in fact the nationally televised parade at Magic Kingdom is on Xmas Day.
Dec 26 (Boxing day?) is not recognized in US.
I thought the worse night for crowding was New Years Eve..unpleasant in the parks...literally cheek to jowl. In 1998 they shut the parks for outside visitors, only Disney Resort guests were let in after about 4-5 pm.
There is TONS of "street" & scheduled entertainment constantly going on at WDW, possibly the best is at Epcot, which often has an internationally themed aspect to the entertainment.

That time of year can get quite cool in the evenings, don't expect tropical climate in December.
