Hello,
I have some marriott points I'd like to use for a long WE (3 nights).
I am hesitating between the following destinations:
- Las Vegas
- San Diego
- Albuquerque
- Santa Fe
- Key West
- Palm Spring
I would like to stay at a nice hotel or resort.
I like properties where you can walk/jogg in the park, I love great bathroom, comfy rooms and nice breakfast.
Which in your opinion is the best Marriott resort ? I read a lot +++ things about the desert springs, but my favorite destination would be New Mexico. Is there a nice marriott property there?
Thanks
Celine

No one ?
what about the JW marriot in LV ?
Celine
Celine, the only Marriotts in Key West are the Fairfield and Courtyard. Based on that, I'd skip Key West. I stayed at the Desert Springs Marriott last spring and will say it is a top notch resort.
Keep in mind the time of year also. I wouldn't want to do Key West, Palm Springs, or Vegas in the summer. Too hot.
Thanks GoTravel. I am planning this trip sometimes during the 2 last week of May.
Celine
Marriott dumped their Key West properties sometime ago except for the lower tier ones.
We have had some great vacations at the Desert Springs Marriott. Liked their spa and the golf course was beautiful and they had great tennis courts. I don't know what the weather would be like in May however. We always went around Christmas or later.
Did you look at the Camelback Inn in Scottsdale. It is probably one of the only 5 star Marriott resorts. Most of theirs are 4 stars, lacking the attention to detail that a 5 star property demands. Camelback is definitely a 5 star. It would really soak up your points however.
San Diego might be fun. Do a search here to find some recent comments. LMF
Thanks LilMsfoodie. (btw, I liked your insight on French Laundry)
I was actually thinking of Key Largo for the marriott location.
A friend also recommended the Desert Spring.
But after all my browsing, I think I have settled for LV and the JW marriott outside the strip (their is a promo for using marriott points). I feel that I can get both sightseeing and relaxation there...
Until I change my mind again !

The JW Marriott outside of LV is the old Regent. A very classy property with on-site spa facilities, good restaurants, a nice casino floor, etc. The rooms are quite posh; mine had marble everywhere and a jacuzzi tub, pretty fancy-schmantzy for a trashy guy like me...! I'm pretty sure they'll have van service to the Strip, tee times at local golf courses, etc.
Just got back from Marriott Desert Springs and everything about it was great-The rooms, the pools, the views, golf, and the restaurants. Can't wait to go back.
We stayed at the Marriott Resort and Marina in San Diego and had a wonderful time. The location is terrific, the pool was lovely and what is there to say about San Diego? It is a great city. I would go back in a minute.
