Chocolate Show in NYC
The Chocolate show in New York on November 7-9
The info on about when/where & tickets can be found below:
http://www.chocolateshow.com/home.php?titre=2&id_code=2
I would like to hear from someone who’s been to these shows or have more info:
What to expect?
Is it fun to visit with family?
Thanks for your input!

I went last year to the show at the Metropolitan Pavillion. I thought that was really a glorified chocolate shopping mall. Many vendors, a fair amount of free samples, but my impression was that it was principally a chance to allow the chocolate makers to sell to the public.
There were some special events which I did not attend. It was VERY crowded so I would recommend getting tickets in advance if possible, to avoid the admission line.
The prices seemed to be less than retail at many of the booths, so I guess it would be a great gift-shopping opportunity.

ekscrunchy, thank you for your post.
I was once on chocolate fair in Turino. It was very different from the one you described. Lots of samples, music, great coffee and completely free.

Honestly, the admission is $28 per adult with children under 12 free. Unless this one will be very different than last year's, I just don't think that it is worth it....
I had a free ticket last year and remember thinking how annoyed I would have been if I had paid..
I hope I am not offending anyone by saying all this, but it is a LOT of money for a family to spend and then have to plunk down more to buy the actual chocolate!

I also went to the chocolate show, but it was a few years ago - it was still at the Metropolitan Pavillion, which is a few blocks from my house.
I agree with eks - it was expensive, although at that time, there were tons of samples. It was VERY crowded and most of the vendors had OK, but not great chocolate - there were a few high-end, excellent vendors, but not many. We went with 3 kids, and they had a great time . . but let's put it this way - up until this year, it was 3 blocks away, and we didn't go again! This year it's all the way over on the piers at the westside - not exactly convenient - so I really don't think it's worth the effort to get there - but that's just one chocolate fiend's opinion.
