chicago trip--Oprah

8 of us are planning a May trip to Chicago and hoping to get in to see Oprah--Does anyone have any info or tips on best way to get tickets? I know there is a website, but if anyone out there has done this and has some advice we would like to hear it. Also, any advice on B&Bs in Chicago would be welcome. thanks

I tried to do this a couple of years ago with no luck. From my understanding, she only tapes Tues, Wed, and Thurs. Tickets are very hard to get.

The only way to get tickets at all is thru the reservations when the phone lines are open, listed on the web site..We got lucky last MAR.& got tickets (i think its a limit of 4 to begin with), thru last minute reservations that are posted on the website. You had to send an Email, and if lucky, they call you back!! It was all very last minute. I think if you live in the area they may post it on the TV or make a local announcements. We had a great time and would do it again in a minute...Again, you have to call or email when they make the announcements! You can't just show up & hope to get in..Good Luck

Just keep calling and hopefully you will get in. Not sure about B&Bs in Chicago.

Tickets to Oprah are very difficult to get. I went once through a friend of a friend connection. The second time, on the program they asked for people to call-in if they'd like to appear in the audience of a show with a particular topic (they might only do this in Chicago, where I lived).

For quaint, B&B accommodations check out Oak Park, a suburb about 8 miles west of Oprah's studio. It's a great little town by itself, and also a good base for exploring Chicago (if you are looking for less urban surroundings),
