Thinking about a trip to Chicago w/a possible sidetrip to South Bend for a Notre Dame football game. Would prefer not to have to rent a car. Any direct bus or train service to South Bend for the games, or anything similar??

The South Shore commuter RR runs from Chicago to South Bend airport.

There is bus service from the airport to downtown, but I'm not aware of any direct service to the campus. A taxi may be your best bet.
Thanks for the reply. Guess rental car will be the way to go.
