We are planning a trip to Chicago in June and will be staying at the Howard Johnson on Lasalle ( 720 N Lasalle St, Chicago, IL 60654 ) and am wondering if it is possible and the best route to walk to Navy Pier?
Chicago - is it possible to walk from hotel on Lasalle to Navy Pier?

It's a nice walk. Walk east on Superior to Michigan Ave.,Turn right and walk south to Illinois, take a left and walk out to Navy Pier.
Is it possible to walk down Grand instead of Illinois?
Grand is a one-way street going west.
Just teasing, you can do either. The only detail is that Grand and Illinois cross under Michigan Avenue, so you have to walk down the stairs. If that's a problem, you can take Superior to Rush instead.
The Pier usually operates a free trolley during the summer months from State and Grand, but it can be very crowded. Check their site to be sure it hasn't been a victim of budget-cuts this year.
Ha! Thanks Citylghts, just wasn't sure if there was a special cross at Lakeshore and Illinois or something. We will have a 3 year old in a stroller with us, so maybe taking Rush would be better! Thanks for your input!
Illinois and Grand cross under Lakeshore as well.
It is possible to walk but it will take at least a half an hour. Also Navy Pier is half a mile long so it involves a lot of walking. The #65 bus goes down Illinois and lets you off right at Navy Pier.
