Help me pick, the Hotel Palomar or the Intercontinental, regarding location, quality of rooms, etc.
Palomar is a little less expensive but that won't be the deciding factor.

Intercontinental is an historic property well located on Michigan Avenue. The Kimpton Palomar is not in the same class although OK.
Have you checked Hotwire and Priceline? Chicago is the perfect city to use these. Lots of nice hotels on Michigan Ave or the Loop. I bid 4*North Michigan
