Cheap Girl's weekend to Dallas
A group of us are going to Dallas for a girl's weekend in May. We are all stay-at-home moms and on a budget. We are mostly looking for a nice but inexpensive area to stay i , but also want to be close to some trendy fun clubs. We want night life. We are all big partiers and are more interested in going out than spending a lot of money on spa treatments during the day. None of us have ever been on a trip to Dallas (of this nature) so we have no idea where to begin. Thanks for any help!!!

If you are looking for a fun weekend, I reconsider Dalls and do either Austin or San Antonio. On second thought San Antonio would be a better fit for what you are looking for. The Riverwalk has TONS of restaurants and nite spots and it's all walkable so no car needed. There are several hotels right on the walk and you can even priceline a room or two for good rates.
Dallas is spread out and you would need car to get anywhere.
Hope this helps.

If you are looking to go out to dinner and dancing, then I would stay in downtown Dallas. There are several restaurants and some clubs that you could walk to. If you prefer bars over dancing then try uptown, everything is walking distance there too (although the hotels are pricey).
Dallas is spread out, but if you stay in the downtown/uptown area most things are accessible by DART rail or a $5-$10 cab ride.

Cheap place to stay is the La Quinta along I-75/Central Expressway at Henderson (Willis more specifically).
From there you can walk and bar hop - Victor Tango, Alma, Tei Tei, J Blacks (crazy nightclub scene on weekends), Hacienda, Barcadia, Beauty Bar, Bar Celine, Park.
Have fun!

I agree with Pepper's idea to stay at the La Quinta then you can walk to lots of places along Henderson. That is probably the most popular going out area these days, and its also not far from Lower Greenville, which has inexpensive bars too.
Hotels in downtown/uptown are very pricey, and staying in other parts of town would require an expensive taxi.
