Chattanooga to San Antonio camping spots?

Jump to last reply

Hello, my friend and I are planning a tent camping trip from Chattanooga to San Antonio this spring. We'll be traveling on his GoldWing motorcycle. We'd like it to be a 2-3 day trip getting to San Antonio.
We're looking for advice on 2 good camping spots along the way. We prefer the 2nd site be within 3-5 hours of San Antonio. We both like State & National parks and forests. My friend first suggested we camp the first night at Lake Charles, LA, making the 2nd day our SA arrival. I think that's too far for an enjoyable trip. We've agreed to make it a 3-day trip (camping 2 nights). Now where?? We're flexible on routes but of course the more country scenery, the better. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks! (btw, we're both 70)
