Charleston Marriott properties
We are taking my inlaws to Charleston overnight in April. I have some Marriott gift certficates, but I am having a hard time deciding on a property. The reviews on trip advisor for the Courtyard on the Ashley river are recently mixed. We are also considering the Marriott highrise. Any help is appreciated.

I considered the Renaissance, but this is only for one night and it is a lot more money. Also, our plan is to walk around the historic district the morning we are in town and have lunch at Magnolia. In the late afternoon we can go back to the Courtyard, or the high rise, check in, and let my inlaws rest in the afternoon at the hotel (that is why the river view looks appealing). We will then go to a seafood restaurant we want to try that is not downtown (I have to remember where it was at, a little north of town) - we have to drive to it anyway.

We have reservations at Magnolia's for lunch and the Boathouse for dinner. I usually stay in town, but have stayed outside town when cost was a factor (we are paying for 2 rooms - not one). As for driving home - it is a 5 hour drive, don't think that a good idea with my 80 year old father-in-law
