Trip Report Charleston and Kiawah at Christmas

Jump to last reply

Thanks to all of those who gave great advice on this Christmas trip. We had a great week.
Food: Wild Olive (great sweetbreads and cobia), Fat Hen (great fish) - both of these are right off the Island toward Charleston on Maybank. We have eaten at several nice places and these two are right up there with anything we have had.
The Sanctuary OCean Room for dinner was a very nice treat for all of us....elegant and everything was over the top.
Magnolias in Charleston was fabulous (fried chicken livers) as was Pearlz for oysters.

We stayed at Windswept villas through a VRBO. The villa was exactly as described and we had several days of weather that was nice enough for us to walk on the beach.

The Ryder Cup bar out at the end of the Island was our favorite for after dinner cocktails and the occasional appetizer.
All in all - a great week.
