Changing Terminals in Oakland Airport
I'm flying into terminal 1 at Oakland(America West) and am meeting a friend who is flying into terminal 2(Southwest).Can I easily walk between terminals(pulling a 22" rollaboard) or is there a shuttle bus that I can/should use?

Literally it's 12 feet from terminal 1 to terminal 2 at the Oakland airport. The entire airport is about the size of one of those really small industrial parks. It'll take you all of 2 minutes to make the walk (they're even connected inside)!

Thanks Hilary....is there just one baggage claim that is shared by both terminals, or are there two separate baggage claim areas? I'm quite relieved to know how close the two terminals are.Your prompt reply made me feel much better.

Each terminal has it's own baggage claim. You can easily walk between the two, I'd say that from your gate, it will likely take about 10 minutes as you have to come all the way in from the far side. The two buildings are probably 200 yards apart.

Thanks so much, BayArea and Hilary. Now i know what to expect. Sounds like no problem at all. I was envisioning a Dallas or Newark type scenario....this is easy. Can't wait to spend time in your wonderful part of the country.
