Take the E train. The last stop is the World Trade Center station which is just across Church Street from Century 21.

You could possibly get there faster by taking the A, which is an Express, to Chambers and then switch. If you're in a hurry do that. If not familiar with the subways, just stick to the E train.

Before you head downtown, you might want to stop at Daffy's which is a block away from Penn Station. I think you will find more that you will like there. Century 21 is CROWDED all the time and I rarely find alot of great stuff there. But hey it's also worth a shot.

I used to take the NYC subways, but it's been a while. We're not in a particular hurry, so we'll take the E.

I've never been to Century 21 before - we are planning on getting there around 11am, so hopefully it wont' be too packed.

Are there dressing rooms, or should I wear a long skirt?

They have dressing rooms. I've gotten there when it opens and it's fine. By 11 am you'll start to get the lunch crowd and will probably be crowded - but so what.

Just wander around South Street Seaport for a place you find appealing. In the nice weather, a table outdoors with a view of the Brooklyn Bridge is terrific.

Thanks again, guys. The E was the way to go - we caught it right from Penn Station. Met some people from Paris trying to find their way around, and was surprised, b/c I would think if you can deal with the Metro, would could deal with NYC subways, too. They were really nice. I was hesitant to take out my map and look like a tourist, but we saw 3 different people taking pictures of their travel companions inside the subway!

travelbuff - I see what you mean about Century 21. It is a bit overwhelming. It wasn't extremely crowded, but the dressing room line was very long and I didn't think it was worth it to try on a pair of jeans. But I did get a nice pair of shoes and my sister found a purse.
