I have a cousin visiting from England. He wants a cheap cell phone to use for the month that he is in the U.S. What is the best way for me to get such a phone? Obviously we are not looking for high end technology or a long-term contract. I am in Southern California.

Buy a Trac or similar brand phone - sold at lower end stores like Walmart and Target - you get a phone number and can load it with minutes as needed.
I agree. Got my Trac Phone at Target. I've been using it for a couple of years and use the automatic plan that re-loads minutes every month so I don't forget.
Might be nice if someone else in the family could use it after the month. The initial cost is the phone even though it's pretty cheap but you can keep it active for less than $10 a month.
Great. Trac it is. Thanks for the advice!
