Casual Restaurant in Santa Barbara

I'll be in SB for 2 nights in a couple of weeks. Any recommendations for casual place with atmosphere, for burgers and similar with good wine list?
Also, are there any good Mexican restaurants?
Thanks.

I'll be staying at the Biltmore Four Seasons and prefer not to eat at the hotel. Looking for light fare food, including hamburgers, other sandwiches with good atmosphere. No fast food.

How about Joe's on State St.? It's not upscale by any means, but it's been there forever. They make a great cocktail too. The food is old school American. The wine list probably consists of Burgundy, Chablis and Rose' though.

My recent favorite for mexican is CAVA in MOontecito... it's right on the main drag... very close to your hotel. The halibut ceviche is wonderful, as is everything else I've tried... they even have super coffee for after dinner. Valet parkind at night, not for lunch and I haven't had a bad meal there yet!

Enjoy!

I like El Paseo in an old historic building in downtown SB. The Margarita Shrimp is really yummy.
