Car Service Phoenix to Mesa

We are flying into Phoenix. AZ on Monday to visit my in laws who live in Mesa. We need to get from Phoenix to Mesa. Car rentals are around $200 for the 5 days we will be there. We really don't need a car while we are there so want to know if there are car services from Phoenix to Mesa (and then returning) that would be less expensive than that. Any ideas?

Sky Harbor airport to Mesa is about 15 miles. They can't pick you up?

It is a bit more than 15 minutes but because of eye problems, even if they wanted to pick us up, we wouldn't want them to

Then my next suggestion (short of someone having a specific recommendation) is to look on the Sky Harbor website. Most airports have good information about ground transportation.

Taxi would probably run $30 or so, maybe a bit more if in far east Mesa ... rental cars at the airport are expensive in part because of high taxes added to pay for the football stadium that just hosted the Superbowl.

I think there's also a Super Shuttle that is about half the cost of a taxi but you have to share the vehicle so it takes longer.

I would just grab a cab.

I'd just take a cab. We did it last year for the birth of our grandson when they obviously couldn't pick us up...airport to Chandler Regional Hospital...probably further than anyplace you would be going in Mesa, was about $40.

I usually take a cab from the airport in Phoenix (going to south Scottsdale), but I use Execucar (Super Shuttle's private car service) when returning. That seems to work pretty well for me.

Depending on where in Mesa your inlaws live you may have another option. Lots of the retirement communities have cars and "drivers" that offer services to and from the airport. These are usually retired gentlemen (or women) who, for a nominal fee take and pick up the residents, I know in my in-laws case, they can also be hired to pick up family members coming to see them.
