I had another topic going on best travel route from Boston to Maine but plans may change... Originally from So Cal now living in Denver. Planning to travel October 15-19 and want to see some of New England. Was informed the Fall Foilage was not very pretty this year so plan to stick to the coast. Will fly into Boston and go from there. Where is the best place to stay near Cape Cod? Looking for quaint B&B, this is a trip with just my husband and no kids. Should we stay in Boston a night or two and just visit Cape Cod for a night? What are some good day trips from Boston and/or Cape Cod? I know NOTHING about East Coast and all suggestions are appreciated. This is a very last minute trip so I realize I may have to search for vacancies.

You could try Inn at Duck Creeke in Wellfleet, which is my favorite town on the Cape. Or Beach Rose Inn in Falmouth is very nice, too. Or Seadar Inn in Harwich Port. Other than those, we have stayed at your typical Rt 6 motels (not very quaint). With your time limit, I don't suggest any day trips from Boston. There is plenty to do right in Boston. You should stay ON the Cape, & with a car, you can visit many Cape Cod towns. The National Seashore beaches are the prettiest, (I know you won't be swimming at this time of year, but for walks & beauty). I suggest staying in towns on the lower/outer Cape, from Chatham down to P-town. (Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, & Provincetown). this is my favorite part of the Cape.
I also like Falmouth & have stayed twice at the Beach Rose Inn. There is a lot to do in this area, too, such as the Heritage Gardens & Museum, & the Sandwich Glass Museum.
Kwoo, Thank you so much for your suggestions! Much appreciated.
Also, take a look at the Fort Hill B and B in Eastham. This is the weekend of the Oyster Festival in Wellfleet, if that sort of thing appeals to you.
