Cape Cod Beaches requiring foot sanitation.

The director of the national seashore beaches on Cape Cod is considering mandatory foot baths in a sterile solution before entering the water. "There is some evidence that some of the bacterium found on human feet might encourage algae blooms in warm summer months' director Thomas Fuellery was quoted as saying.

The post title is misleading and probably uneccessarily alarmist. "Considering" is not "requiring".
Let us know if/when the idea actually becomes policy and goes into effect, and they figure out how to implement it.

The algae blooms have become a real problem; personally I would do what I was requested to do to if there was a real probablity it would help. I'd like to see the "evidence" on which this is based though.
If you are quoting some article, it's a good idea to put a link to the source.

No, it's true. But of course it's starting up a whole political ruckus. The Dems see it as a public health program and the Reps see it as gov't overstepping its bounds. Evangelicals are for it bec. it is like Jesus washing the feet of the leper(?). Non-believers see it as a sort of free pedi. When I went to the National Seashore this past weekend the staff had put out these shallow containers of sterilizing solution near the water. The swimmers had to slosh through them before entering the water. The algae were sad. No more free lunch. Anyway, it's Obama's fault.
