Only a "1st time visitor" would not have reservations on Cape Cod for the 1st week in July by now.
So, are from area???
Is this a good location? Actually, there is still availability at most of the places I've called.)
It's a lovely area, Amy, and a good "jumping off" point for seeing the rest of the Cape. It is in the busier beginning of the Cape, however, especially at that time of year.
Thanks Pauline! I just booked it at Spring Garden Inn, very close to Sandy Neck Beach, which I hear is beautiful. Thanks again!
East Sandwich is lovely and near nice beaches but it's far from the Cape Cod National Seashore, Wellfleet, Chatham, Provincetown, etc. Basically you're at the beginning of the cape.
I would suggest staying in Chatham. It is a great little town with lots of things within walking distance: the beach, restaurants, B&Bs, etc. It is also very quiet and quaint. Also near some lakes if you prefer warmer swimming water.
