According to the blue book the beachside path runs from the Fairmont to the Renaissance, but the shops at Wailea see to be a ways off from the path according to this photo I'm looking at. Can we walk to it?

I think the only way to get from the Beachwlak to the Shops is through the Outrigger property. The Kea Lani does have a shuttle to the Shops, or you can walk along Wailea Alanui.
You can get to the shops by walking along the path, then up through Marriott/Outrigger. If you walk up from the ocean, past the pools, through reception and then past the parking garage, you will be in the parking lot for the Shops at Wailea. I'd say it takes about 10 minutes from the pathway, at the most.
We stayed there last year and it was a long walk. At that time there wasn't a shuttle but the Kea Lani would give you a ride to the shops. When we were ready to be picked up we had to call the hotel and wait for them to come get us. Has this changed?
The Wailea Resort Shuttle runS from the Shops to the resorts every thirty minutes.
