Can you use the pool on the day you check out?

Anyone know if Las Vegas hotels allow this?

We're booked at the Paris hotel and would like to swim/relax by the pool after we check out but before our flight. We did this at Disneyworld and it was a great way end the vacation, hoping we can do it again.

Any insights much appreciated

Enjoy-la!

I think most hotels are fine with that. Just ask them.

Great - thx a mint for the replies!

Their website really wants you to get all your answers from the website but I found a phone number for them, punched thru all the menus and when it finally said I'd be transferred to an agent, it rang thru and said they were too busy at this time, "try again in 48 hours"...LOL! I suspected fab Fodorites would know.

Enjoy-la!

After checking out just remember to keep your room key card as you have to show it to get through into the pool. Some pools only allow access by using the key card in the locked gates to the pool, so if you have checked out it won't work!

I've never been to Vegas but I've done that everywhere else I've traveled (Hawaii, Mexico, etc.). I think it's expected ;-) Good point about pool access though. Why not just ask at the hotel front desk?

It wouldn't hurt to ask; however, if the pool is for the use of guests only, I wouldn't expect to be able to use the pool if I had checked out and was, therefore, no longer a guest.

We always use the pool on checkout day. It has never been an issue. Just like you can use it before your room is ready ( same day), you can use it the day you check out.

I'll be sure to ask the front desk when we check in. We'll be at the pool during our stay so I can recon if we need to show the key or swipe it. If the key needs to be active, on the last day I guesss we can go to the pool and then one of us can go check out. Sounds like we're set - thx a mint all!

Hmmm, didn't know that you could use it before checking in on day 1 too - good to know!

Enjoy-la!

If the key card needs to remain active, ask the front desk for a "late checkout" but with the agreement that you will vacate the room so housekeeping can get it ready for the new guests.

I've always been able to use a hotel's facilities on the day of checkin and the day of checkout, even when the room is not ready or has been vacated. I traveled with my grandmother every summer as a child and she always made those arrangements when we were staying at beach or resort locations. As long as housekeeping has the time to ready the room for incoming guests, they don't have a problem with your using the hotel amenities. At resorts, they will often give you a card to use to charge food and services to the room. They WANT you on the property on the day of check-in vs spending your money somewhere else.

Sure I've often sat out by the pool upon arrival if my room's not ready yet. I pack my bathing suit and one hot weather outfit so it's easy to get to, change in the hotel's restroom. I would be shocked if the hotel would not let you do this at the end of your stay on the technically you are no longer a 'guest'. It works out great especially assuming there are showers and a restroom poolside so you can clean up before heading to the airport.

It is a perfectly legit question. Please let us know if the hotel says No.

Just was there, at the Paris hotel you just have to show your key to the attendant (kids), they then give you towels and wave you in.

I love Paris! Both the Vegas one and the real one. Seriously, though, that remains one of my most favorite Vegas hotels.

They have the only buffet that I will eat at. I admit to being a snob about buffets, but that one for a combo late breakfast/early lunch is superb!!

Thx for the extra replies

owlwoman, thx a mint for the info - us planners like to know in advance If it turns out to not be the case for us, I will be sure to report back.

I love real Paris too but alas that's far down DH's list right now so Vegas will have to do...LOL! Actually fab to hear you enjoy that hotel. It will be our first stay there - last time we stayed at Palazzo which had just opened so as you can tell it's been a few years since we've been back.

We were hoping for Mandalay Bay but the pricing was crazy, and Paris has always been beautiful to walk thru so we thought we'd try it. I love the sinks in the casino's main restroom...LOL!

Enjoy-la!

Paris is a very convenient location for being able to walk to other casinos, esp Caeasar's and Bellagio, and of course the Planet Hollywood resort is just across a little side street. Mandalay Bay is very remote in location, so I think that you may very will find the convenience outweighs any disappointment you had about not getting your first choice spot. .Another thing I love about it is that it is the only casino I know where you do not walk *literally* blocks and blocks thru the place just to get to the street! I hope that you have a great time.

You should be able to. I bought a spa pass for $25 once at MGM, which allowed me a day at the pool, followed by a hair blow out, and freshening up before my evening flight.
I had a locker for my carry-on bag, and the luggage was kept by the bellman. Well worth it.
